Woodmen of the World Essay Contest . . . . . open to students in GRADES 9 - 12.  In 300-500 words tell which of your personal civil liberties, as embodied in the Bill of Rights, is most important to you and why.  First Place - $300; Second Place, $200; Third Place, $100.  Return typewritten essay and form (can be obtained from ND Guidance office) to Barbara or Adam Doucet, Jr. at 197 Sonnier Drive, Church Point, LA  70525 by MAY 3, 2010.

SLEMCO Scholarship . . . . . twenty (20) $2000 scholarships will be awarded.  Applicant must be a SLEMCO member or a dependent child of a SLEMCO member.  Only one application allowed per applicant.  Application must be filled out and returned to the Lafayette SLEMCO office by 4:30 p.m. on MAY 6, 2010; mailed entries must be postmarked by MAY 6.  FMI and application, visit ND Guidance Office. 

Myrta Fair Craig Scholarship. . . $500 scholarship presented by Rayne Acadian Tribune.  Awarded to a senior who is pursuing a college degree in some field of mass communications.  Candidates must submit a curriculum vitae, a description of their college plans and anticipated major degree, and a sample of their writing to the managing editor of the Rayne Acadian Tribune no later than FRIDAY, MAY 7, to be used in judging their qualifications.
